R. Dale Bay is a shareholder in the Nashville office of Lewis King.  His practice since 1984 has been concentrated in the area of civil jury trial litigation in state and federal courts throughout the southeastern United States. Mr. Bay's litigation work includes tort, product liability, professional malpractice, aviation law, personal injury automobile/personal lines, employment discrimination, business and commercial litigation. In product liability work, Mr. Bay has defended numerous complex, multimillion-dollar personal injury claims in both state and federal courts, representing a variety of national and international manufacturers as well as local distributors and retailers.

He has represented clients on state and national levels, serving as both lead trial counsel, regional coordinating counsel and special support counsel. He has achieved successful results through defense jury verdicts, directed verdicts, summary judgments and through court mediation and arbitration. Current representation includes: aviation related tort litigation; automobile manufacturers with allegedly defective seat belts, air-bags, ABS brake systems, crashworthiness and fire cases; recreational vehicle manufacturers; small appliance manufacturers; tire companies; helmet manufacturers; lawn mower manufacturers and heavy equipment manufacturers.

Mr. Bay also represents many individuals and entities in professional fields such as legal, medical and governmental. This area of practice includes the defense of malpractice and errors and omission claims as well as employment discrimination.

Current representation in discrimination cases includes the defense of age, sex, FMLA and ADA allegations. He also handles litigation for various corporations and financial institutions. Representative cases include restrictive covenants, violations of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, fraud, and the Fair Debt Collection Act.

Mr. Bay is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations. Mr. Bay is also a member of the Defense Research Institute, the International Association of Defense Counsel and is the firm's Nashville contact for ALFA International.
