Martindale-Hubbell® AV Peer Review Rated Education Bar Admission Practice Areas Lisa Ramsay Cole is the managing partner of the firm's Nashville office. A shareholder with Lewis King, Ms. Cole practices in the areas of employment law, workers' compensation, medical malpractice, and general casualty defense litigation. Ms. Cole's practice for the past 18 years has concentrated in the area of complex civil trial litigation in state and federal courts. She has routinely achieved successful results through defense jury verdicts, summary judgment, mediation, and arbitration in each of her practice areas. Ms. Cole's current clients are national, regional, and local employers; regional and local health care facilities; and insurance companies. In addition to her defense practice, Ms. Cole routinely authors treatises and presents educational and training seminars concerning new developments in Tennessee law to her clients in the areas of general employment law and workers' compensation. Her most recent works include General Principles of Tennessee Law and An Employer's Guide to Tennessee Workers' Compensation. Representative Experience:
Ms. Cole began working with Lewis King after her first year of law school and has remained with the firm as an attorney since graduation from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1993. Ms. Cole is also the shareholder responsible for attorney hiring, is a member of the firm's shareholder compensation and strategic planning committees, and chairs the firm's employment practice group. Ms. Cole graduated cum laude from Bethel College in 1987, with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences. Ms. Cole is admitted to practice in the State of Tennessee and in all federal courts in Tennessee. She is a member of the Tort Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association, American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association and Nashville Bar Association. She is a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation. She is also a graduate of Tennessee's Leadership Law Program. Ms. Cole was appointed by ABA President Robert Grey to serve a three-year term on the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service. Ms. Cole is very active in community and professional organizations. She is currently Chair of the Board of the Sexual Assault Center. She is also a board member of the Nashville Ballet and a past board member of the Junior League of Nashville. Ms. Cole has chaired various aspects of fundraisers for the Sexual Assault Center, Vanderbilt's Children Hospital, the Nashville Symphony, Belle Meade Plantation, the Ensworth School, the American Heart Association, the Nashville Public Library and the Harpeth Hall School. |
