Shareholder and law firm director Larry Giordano engages in a statewide practice based in Lewis King's Knoxville office. He is a member and co-chair of the firm's Education Law Practice Group and he concentrates the balance of his practice in the areas of business, commercial and complex litigation. With over thirty years of practice his diverse experience includes an unusually wide range of legal issues, both in litigation and transactional. He has significant criminal defense experience and has defended multiple cases with simultaneous civil and criminal proceedings. In addition, Mr. Giordano has substantial appellate experience and has argued before the Tennessee Supreme Court, Tennessee Court of Appeals, Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Before earning his law degree from Georgetown, Mr. Giordano attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa and was a Senior Fellow in Psychology. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with highest honors from Denison in 1975.
Mr. Giordano is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® and he is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and the Knoxville Bar Foundation. He is a member of the American, Tennessee, and Knoxville Bar Associations and served on the Board of Governors of the Knoxville Bar Association for many years. He was selected for membership in the Hamilton S. Burnett American Inn of Court in 1991, and was elected President of that organization in 1994.
Among his civic activities, Mr. Giordano is the immediate past President of the Board of Trustees of Catholic Charities of East Tennessee, Inc., and he is an assistant varsity soccer coach at nearby Maryville College.

- The successful representation of a leading Tennessee road contractor in defense of civil antitrust claims brought under the Sherman and Clayton Acts that proceeded concurrently with a Federal Grand Jury probe.
- The successful representation of numerous former directors and officers of failed federally-insured banking institutions from officers' and directors' liability claims brought by agencies of the federal government and bonding companies.
- The successful representation of a Fortune 50 defense contractor in a multimillion-dollar custom software development dispute with a local governmental entity in East Tennessee.
- The successful representation of a major financial investment company in extensive restrictive covenant employment litigation.
- The successful representation of a leading Florida-based provider of leisure products and services in the timeshare industry in complex tort litigation filed against it for alleged breach of contract, business interference and conspiracy claims.
- The successful representation of Tennessee school districts in contested teacher dismissal hearings.
- The successful representation of a transactional attorney in a multimillion-dollar estate claim alleging fraud, malpractice, conspiracy and aiding and abetting the breach of fiduciary duties by a major national bank's trust department.
- The successful representation of an international automobile manufacturer in recovering and protecting company property and secrets illegally taken by a former engineering employee.
- Obtained the dismissal of a six year old qui tam action filed in the United States District Court in which an East Tennessee physician was accused of submitting false claims to the Medicaid and Medicare
programs.
Teaching and Judicial Experience
- Former Administrative Law Judge for the State of Tennessee Department of Education.
- Professor of Law (adjunct) at the University Of Tennessee College of Law where he has taught advocacy courses in Advanced Trial Practice, Trial Practice and Pretrial Procedures since 1994.
- Faculty member for the Kessler-Eidson Program for Trial Techniques at Emory University's School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia.
